Benoît Déhu isn’t just making Champagne - he’s on a mission to prove that Meunier is the rockstar grape of the Vallée de la Marne. After a stint at Bollinger, this 8th-generation winemaker ditched the corporate playbook and went full rebel, snatching a prized vineyard from his family’s historic estate, turning it into his biodynamic playground. Certified since 2015, he farms his "monopole" La Rue des Noyers vineyard with a horse and ferments his grapes in oak barrels he crafts himself from his family’s Fossoy forest.
His wines are pure, unfiltered bottled terroir. He crafts three distinct wines from 100% Meunier in La Rue de Noyers: a vibrant single-vineyard Champagne, a rare still white, and an even rarer still red—all aged in oak. In 2015, Benoît expanded his repertoire with Initiation (a bold Meunier-Pinot Noir blend) and L’Orme (an elegant 100% Pinot Noir), further showcasing his innovative spirit, leveraging the genetics of some Pommard cuttings he planted.
If you love minimal intervention, maximal flavour, and a winemaker who clearly doesn’t believe in boring, Benoît Déhu is your guy.
