Super rare and super fly: this is a white wine with all the qualities of a fine Burgundy, and made in equally tiny quantities, but at a fraction of the cost. From Domaine Barmès-Buecher, a pioneering biodynamic estate in Alsace. This Pinot Blanc is no ordinary everyday drinking wine. Although we love to have it as our house white! It comes from the last planted vineyard  from the family, a microscopic plot of land situated at the top of the hill behind the village of Wettolsheim at a high altitude, on a steep slope, on the forrest fringe and planted on pure granite soil. Granite especially in Alsace will give wine a big freshness and salinity and a spark of magic over the years. Pinot blanc is a classic Alsace grape variety which can produce some rather bland wines but when it is handled with care and love, with reduced yields, hand harvested, and aged to create a lively, vibrant, fresh glass of deliciousness; tasting of Spring, with gorgeous mouth-watering saline minerality giving it a profound texture and personality. So, when to drink it? We say - anytime... as long as you are in good company! Very limited.
