A Wine Source Exclusivity in the UK! "Dominique Cornin is one of the rising stars of southern Burgundy and everything the young and talented Romain Cornin makes is worth buying. This cuvée hails from the high part of Chaintré at an altitude of 370 metres. Elegant, refined and gracefully oaked, with some ferrous notes, a hint of orange zest and racy, stony acidity". Not our words (we wish we could write so beautifully!), but those of top wine writer Tim Atkin. What we love about this terroir is the red terracotta top soil, which really stick to your shoes when wet, protecting a very thick limestone that gives a lot of work to the vine roots to pierce through. this provides the perfect cradle for this exceptional wine. From 2020 vintage Chevrières will be elevated to premier cru status, something that the Cornin family thought for for years, we are delighted that their hard work has now officially been recognised. A must have!
